As Napoleon Hill wrote, “You have built castles in the sky? That is where they belong! Now, work to put real foundations under them.”

Have you ever had an idea you thought was grand only to have someone you share it with shoot it down? How do you feel? Deflated right? You were so excited, so full of hope! Then, wham, right to the floor, hopeless. Don’t give up!

Put a foundation under your castle in the sky!Did they tell you it can’t be done? Did they tell you not to do it? For certain, they were just trying to keep you ‘safe’ and protect you so you won’t be¬†disappointed. I’m reminded of the movie Finding Nemo where Dory and Marlin were talking and Marlin says:

Marlin: I promised I’d never let anything happen to him.
Dory: Hmm. That’s a funny thing to promise.
Marlin: What?
Dory: Well, you can’t never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen to him. Not much fun for little Harpo.

Hehehe! I love that movie, but moving on… The point being, you must take risks. Dream big! Everyone who’s ever done anything meaningful in their lives has taken what seemed to be giant risks. Most have even fallen a lot too, but learned even more.

Have a dream that seems to big, too risky? GREAT! You were bestowed with a vision! Do not let the vision perish! People will be blessed by what you accomplish, not by what you thought of once and let go. Where would we be without the the dreamers and achievers who put foundations under these inventions: airplanes, microwaves, elevators, lightbulbs, and ooo…the internet!!
